Such a special day today and a SPECIAL boy.

Not only was Nick Santa at school..but this AM before he went to school, the Pearce's finally had their time with the judge and Nick was officially adopted by Chris.
When Becky and Nick returned from school after the party and play they stayed to visit a while because Emily was napping and we went out to Chili's to celebrate.
Now first...the questions the boy had for me. The mouth's and minds of babes. And yes...this process has been explained a couple times to him. Adoption that is.
I'd like to share my smiles with you though. Words from Nick talking to me about the adoption. " When will Mommy adopt me?" Me...Mommy does not have to adopt you. You grew in Mommy's tummy like Emily did so she is already officially your Mommy.
"When will Daddy adopt Emily?" (Love the minds.)
Daddy does not have to adopt Emily. Remember we told you Daddy helped make Emily in Mommy's tummy so he is her Daddy already.
He left it at that...content.
We had a great time at Chili's for dinner. After dinner when we were getting up to leave and standing around the table. Nick asked for our attention. Of course...he got it. He thanked all of us...name by name....for coming to help him celebrate. Then he looked at Chris and said, "Thank you for adopting me." By then the tears are filling our eyes but he continues with "I love you" to each of us by name..including Emily of course. I may be prejudice but the boy is SO special.

Dialogue:
Kid...My parents always forget to put out the fire in the fireplace.
Santa...HO HO HO....I'll just use the front door.
Narrator....Then it was Francine's turn with Santa.
Santa...Have you been a good little girl?
Kid....Oh yes Santa! I am always good!!
Santa....Always????
Narrator...After seeing Santa the kids went out for ice cream.
Kid....I only hoave one more shopping day until Xmas.
Kid... Look Santa likes ice cream too!!!
Santa...I'll have a banana split with 6 scoops of Bubble Gum ice cream.

Reindeer sighting!!!!!

What a fun afternoon. We went to visit Santa at the mall. Talk about perfect timing. NO ONE was in line. It was just us. Nick, Emily and Elliot. Emily sat in Santa's lap first and it was pretty serious. She had a good chat with him and even gave him a smile. The photographer snapped away since there was no one else waiting and Becky was able to pick her favorite poses. Nick spent some time chatting with Santa then and has his picture taken with Santa and Emily. Then is was Elliot's turn. It was so much fun with no one else around. The boys then played in the play area for awhile and Emily laid on the floor and watched. After the mall we met Chris for dinner. Chris took Emily home and Becky and Nick went to get Nick a Santa costume. He was picked to be Santa in the class play. Pictures of that in the future.
